Hello everyone! So Dal texted me today and said, "it's been a while since you've blogged"...been almost 3 weeks! So I decided to get on it and update all of you with what's been going on in our neck of the woods!
This past weekend was quite full. It all started on Saturday. Saturday night we played at KTUB (Kirkland Teen Union Building) aka, "kay tub" aka "Kirkland Teen Center", and I'm sure many other names. We played for a benefit show for the Cacoon House, alongside bands like Madison Drive, City in the Sea, and Hot Donna. The other bands were all great. We just want to send out a special shout out and thanks to Heather and Rachel for putting the event on. We had a blast!
AND THEN that same night, after we played, we had to pack up as quick as possible and drive out to Richland, WA (it's one of the Tri-Cities in Eastern Washington, about 4 hrs away!) because we had another show to play that Sunday morning at 9:30 AM. This show was for the student leadership conference, WASC 2008. This was way bigger and better than we expected. Shout out to Rance and Susan and the kids who brought us there for having us! We step on stage and start setting up, and everyone is telling us, "these kids are crazy" and "there's a lot of them". To add to that hype and expectation, our sound check was not going as well as we hoped. Things just were not working right, it seemed like the sound board was wired wrong, or something. Anyways, we are about to go on, they are introducing us, and the curtain is closed. As soon as we get going, running off of 3 hours of sleep, the curtain opens, and I turn around, and I just see this sea of people! It was crazy! We had no idea that there were going to be this many kids there! I remember getting really excited and throwing my hat our into the crowd. My gf got me that hat, she was upset that I did that. I miss that hat. So hey, if you're reading this, and you have it, treasure it! I went through a tough time for you! haha! Here, check out some of these pics taken by Rob's (our drummer) little bro, David, from Rob's Iphone...

Anyways, to play in front of that many kids was a real treat for us. Every one of them were great. Super nice, great to talk to, and super supportive as well. Shout out to everyone who was at WASC! We love you! Once we finished packing, Chris had to jet off and get to the West Side of the state asap before church started. It was awesome during the show though, since it was his bday that day, we got the whole crowd singing happy bday for him and the coordinator Susan. Now that was hilarious.
Once we were able to get out of there, it was time to head to Wapato where Rob is from. We had the amazing opportunity to eat at his sister's house and have REAL mexican tacos. Oh my. If you haven't had greasy, real, tacos, then you are deprived of one of the greatest things of this earth. If you haven't had a real one, then go out and get one now.
Shortly after we filled out bellys, and watched the Seahawks get massacred, it was time to head to the other side of the Cascade Mts because in a few hours, we had to lead worship at my home church for their night service. It was nuts, we got there just in time for practice.
So we did have a good weekend. It was a lot, but it definitely was well spent. Rob and his wife and kids got to see his family that he hasn't for some time, and we just had a blast hanging out and doing what we love to do; play music and encourage.
PS, on a side note, we did shoot the music video last week, well, a lot of it, and now up next is the story side to be filmed, and then the post work begins, which is also the waiting game, haha. So please be patient! We did see some footage, and as April and Monteze can agree with us, it looks way better than we expected! Thanks for the support!
